Transformer for battery charger

       Yes, he *must* check the input voltage range.  Most modern AC
adapters will take 110-240V, but some others do not.  Always check the label
on the adapter/charger.

       Check the label on the back of the charger: if the INPUT is rated for
       100-240V 50/60 Hz, then all he needs is a plug adaptor for the
       Russian/European wall socket.  Those are available for $5 at any
travel
       store or Radio Shack.
