D.M. Dmitriev's recent "Tolkovyi Slovar' Russkogo Iazyka" ("Slovari Akademii
Rossiiskoi", Moskva, 2003) might fit the bill. The meaning of words are
explained in plain Russian, and then exemplified. So you get plenty of
collocation/governance information. The only drawback: such an approach
inherently consumes lots of space, so there are fewer entries than you might
wish (35,000 entries). But it's easy to use and full of good information. My
students love it.
