accommodations in Petersburg for a grad student attending a conference

Hello!
     I am posting this request for help for a former student who is now a PhD
candidate in the Arid Lands program at the University of Arizona. She will be
attending a conference in St. Petersburg in June and is looking for
accommodation that is more reasonable than the $100+/night being offered.
     The conference venue is the St. Petersburg Hotel in the city centre and the
dates accommodation are needed are June 19-25. Does anyone know of reasonable
accommodation, including dorms, that is available?
