"Beyond Tourism" in Central and Eastern Europe

Dear SEELANGS members:

As an editor for Let's Go Eastern Europe 2006, I'm hoping to gather
recommendations for our staple Beyond Tourism section, which advises
eager backpackers on great opportunities that stray from the beaten path.

Basically I'm looking for worthwhile programs/opportunities in Eastern
and Central Europe that fit into the following categories:

VOLUNTEERISM
STUDY ABROAD
LONG-TERM & SHORT-TERM WORK
(incl. teaching English)
