The Lithuanian root has a zh-:  zhmuo (zhmogus) 'person', zheme: = 
'zemlya'.   This is the regular Li correspondence to an original
Slavic /z/.  Lith /z/ is rare--foreign or onomatopoeic.  Cf. zebras.
