I hasten to point out that being a "writing-program type" and a "novelist" are
not mutually exclusive in this day and age.

All sorts of people get to write introductions for all sorts of reasons. The
impression that her review produced on me was that of a self-satisfied
litterateur attacking a translation from a language that she herself did not know.

Apparently, it produced that impression on others. Reader respnse, what?
