is Harupnik a whip like Kanchuk & Nahajka ?

Thank you everybody so much for explaining the
different appliations of
Kanchuk, Nahajka, Harupnik, Arapnik, Knut, Ple"t' - etc...

In the Multitran on-line dictionary I also found
arapnik to be a "quirt" or "trainer's whip".
Sounds as if the German-Russian parents were pretty
strict with their waywards sons.
