"Entuziazm" : the expert

Hi Peter,

There is actually an expert on the Stalinist use of
"entuziazm," Malte Rolf at Humboldt University in
Berlin. Though he is broadly interested in Stalinist
culture on its own terms, he has a lot to say about
the word itself and can probably answer your question
about when it entered into the Russian language.

(With my work on Dionysus in Russia, I have become a
specialist on the word "ecstasy," so the two of us
were happy to find each other.)
