Soc. Realist Short Stories/Sketches in English?

[Brewer, Michael]

Polevoi's Story about a Real Man is a great one (Povest o nastoiashchem
cheloveke), but is a bit long. It has been translated into English, but
I'm not sure how good the translation is.

I am surprised that you would consider this story socialist realism.
