Why study Russian/Slavic? -- request for materials

Dear Seelangs,

I am putting together a presentation on how to attract students to study
Russia and the Russian language.  I would appreciate any materials or input
that you might have on talking points that leave today's undergraduates
favorably disposed to consider studying Russian or Slavic Studies.  What has
been successful in your home institution? What is the best way to
communicate the advantages of learning Russian versus other languages?
