The Department of Slavic Languages at Georgetown University invites 
applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Russian 
and 20^th -century Russian Literature, beginning Fall 2007. Ph.D. and 
native or near-native fluency in Russian and English required. The 
successful candidate will teach 20^th -century Russian literature in 
both English and Russian to undergraduate and graduate students, as well 
as all levels of the Russian language.

Applicants are requested to send by December 1 a cover letter detailing 
their research and teaching interests, a curriculum vitae, and three 
letters of recommendation to Dr. George Mihaychuk, Chair of Search 
Committee, Department of Slavic Languages, Georgetown University, 
Washington, DC 20057-1050. Selection criteria will include: Academic 
qualifications in 20^th -century Russian literature; record and 
potential as a scholar and teacher; quality of written and spoken 
English and Russian; letters of evaluation; preliminary interview at 
national AATSEEL conference, December 28-30, 2006, in Philadelphia (if 
invited) and campus visit (if invited). Georgetown University is an
