Lecturer in Slavonic Studies

Applications are invited for the above post in the Department of Russian and Slavonic Studies, which is one of the leading Slavonic departments in the UK, and covers Russia and South-East Europe. Applications will be considered from individuals, including early-career researchers, who have a PhD or equivalent and high quality research for potential submission in RAE (Research Assessment Exercise) 2008. The Departmental research clusters are: 20th/21st-century literature and culture; narratives of national identity; theatre; translation studies; gender studies. The Department also contributes to the CRCEES research strands. The successful candidate will provide undergraduate teaching at all levels and postgraduate supervision. The ability to contribute to the teaching of any area of Serbian/Croatian studies is highly desirable; teaching may be of a comparative nature or include material which contextualises South-East Europe in a wider framework. This post will also involve administrative responsibilities and pastoral care of students.

Salary will be within the range £29,138 - £39,160 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience (salary can progress to £45,397 per annum, subject to performance). This post is available from 1 September 2007.
