dear keith,
two texts by shklovskii that you might want to check out are: the
article "o pisatele i proizvodstve," which appears in the 1929
anthology "literatura fakta" (ed. nikolai chuzhak) and addresses the
notion of the second profession; and his experimental productivist
autobiography from 1926, "tret'ia fabrika."
