Sorry but I am confused - what conference you are talking about in regard to the deadline for abstract submission?  Is it annual SEELanguages?in December in Chicago?  For whch the deadline was Aug 1?

Or do you mean another conference in Chicago that takes place on October 12th?

Would appreciate if you clarify.
