Tenure-Track Assistant Professor of Russian, to begin Fall 2009.
 
 
The Department of Germanic & Slavic Languages at Vanderbilt University is
seeking an energetic individual with strong scholarly interests and
experience teaching U.S. undergraduates for a tenure-track assistant
professor position. The successful candidate will be required to teach
courses that include Russian language courses and courses in Russian
literature, film, and culture taught in English. Job responsibilities will
also include coordinating the Russian Hall in McTyeire international house.
The position requires near-native or native fluency in Russian and English
and the Ph.D. degree in hand by August 2009. The field of expertise should
include 19th-century Russian literature and culture and a secondary
specialization preferably in Russian film. Opportunities are available for
involvement in interdisciplinary programs including European Studies, Jewish
Studies, Film Studies, etc. Please send a letter of application, curriculum
