Chekhov in the works of others

If you can use film adaptations in your class, there's a lot of Chekhov out there, much of it in English and/or subtitled in English. Take a look here: http://www.fandango.com/antonchekhov/filmography/p316603.

For teaching individual plays, I have found showing multiple film versions of the same play, or even a single scene from the same play, really helps get students to see the work in greater depth.

      I suggest the 1957 film, "Wild Strawberries" by Ingmar Bergman,  
where
there are lots of parallels with "Skuchnaja Istorija."
