Perestroika movies?

If you are interested in documentaries, I would especially suggest "Is It Easy to Be Young?" (~1986) by Juris Podnieks, which is not only a contemporary look at troubled youth but was also one of the first new movies to be made under glasnost and therefore is crucial to its history, especially with regard to film. There are also the documentaries by Marina Goldovsaia, and a twelve-video set of documentaries under the rubric "Glasnost Film Festival." All of the movies I mentioned have English subtitles.

Yes, please do. That sounds very interesting. Does the documentary have
English subtitles? I would be showing it to students, most of whom don't
know Russian.
