Translations of *War and Peace*

Dear Colleagues, 

 

By now many of you have no doubt taught WP using the Pevear/Volokhonsky or
the Briggs translation.  I would be curious about which of these you prefer,
and why.  Do any of you prefer older translations like the Maude or Edmonds
ones, and if so, why?
