French to Russian Symbolism

My question does not require a very technical answer; perhaps, just a 
sentence or two with a reference would be of enormous help to me.

QUESTION: How was Russian poetry (Symbolist) transformed through the 
influence of French Symbolism on a phonetic, rhythmic level?
