I have a question for the list.

Without a period of professional training beforehand, do you think it is efficient to ask trained Russian instructors to interpret and trained interpreters to teach? Let's suppose that the professional interpreters/translators and instructors in question would be still working in their initial job assignment while taking on the second one. In their "down time", they would take assignments in the other field. In either case, what is your rationale and what efficiencies/inefficiencies and benefits/problems could it cause?

Please respond to me directly at aimee.m.roebuck-johnson at nasa.gov<mailto:aimee.m.roebuck-johnson at nasa.gov>

Thank you in advance.
