question on Russian Tilting Dolls

Can anybody recommend any resources on the history of Soviet design? Right
now, I am trying to find out, for example, when the now classic design for
tilting dolls, or nevalyashki, was created--and
am having a hell of a time. Any guidance in the right direction would
be greatly appreciated.
