Ostrovsky was killed by the all-purpose "Ray-of-light-in-the-kingdom-of-darkness" of Dobroliubov (? I believe: the nature of that education was that you even repressed the names of the quoted critics!). It is fascinating how all finalizing comments kill one's interest in true art.
