African American students encouraged to study Russian

Hi Devin and all,

This article is interesting, but it oddly lacks historical context -  
reasons why Russian would resonate with African-Americans.  19th c.  
abolitionist and Afr-American interest in Pushkin, the Black-Soviet  
romance, Langston Hughes, Paul Robeson, Angela Davis, etc., etc.
