Dear Colleagues,

I have just returned from Kyiv, where I attended a conference at the National University of the Kyiv-Mohyla Academy, devoted to hetman Pylyp (Philip) Orlyk. With your indulgence, I am forwarding a press release prepared by the Institute of History of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, announcing the publication by year's end of a scholarly edition of Orlyk's pacta conventa of 1710, better known as Orlyk's "Constitution."

Of interest to specialists of the period is the fact that the link below leads to a PDF copy of the original Ukrainian version of the "Constitution," which was found in 2008, in Russia.

Best wishes,

Natalia Pylypiuk, PhD, Professor
