Dear Elena,

The Ann Arbor one is the second edition. The first one is: Pasternak,  
Boris. Doktor Zhivago. Milan: Feltrinelli, 1957.
If you wish to hear more about the details of this publication, you  
could watch the Shkola zlosloviia interview with Ivan Tolstoy (he has  
published the whole book on the history of the publication of Doctor  
Zhivago, the Nobel prize, etc. Needless to say, it's meant to be
