Visa question

Dear all,

The son of a friend of mine will be studying in Moscow starting in April and working as an intern for the summer, and his parents have some questions that I can't answer and would, as always, appreciate help from the list.

I am assuming that his visa (business, right?) will be good for no more than 90 days - is this still true? If, as he plans, he stays in Russia longer than 90 days, will he have to leave the country to secure a new visa? If he does leave the country, where are the chances best for getting a visa renewed sooner rather than later?

Thanks!

Tony
