ASEES 2012: Geographies of Disaster

  Colleagues:

Together with Arja Rosenholm I'm putting together a panel that will 
examine geographies of disaster in modern Russian culture -  
"geo-graphy" understood as both physical environmental and the writing 
of place.  We currently have a paper on Soviet-era industrial flooding 
of traditional communities; and a comparative examination of oral 
histories of Katrina and Chernobyl.  I'd welcome hearing from anyone 
interested in contributing a paper or acting as a discussant or chair 
for the panel.
