Writers and screenplays

as well as Babel's Benya Krik (not sure if my previous message got through or not) - one could also count Vasily Shukshin - some of his films were first written and published as literature and then turned into a film script - for example Живет такой парень was based on two short stories from a collection of his short stories published a year previously.

I was just wondering if anybody can think of any Russian writers who created
screenplays for their own works. I cannot think of anybody, other than
Nabokov and Akunin... Any input will be much appreciated!
