They may try this one, just next door to the US Embassy:

I did not have experience with it, but thought of it at some point as a
possible short-term shelter J

Subject: [SEELANGS] hostel in Moscow?

Dear colleagues,

I have two students who will be in Moscow briefly next month and need an
affordable, clean, safe place to stay for a couple of nights. Do you have
any recommendations? Many thanks for any help!

Judy
