New book about life in the former Soviet Union

I've just written and posted an advance review of a new book about living
in the former USSR, due out in mid-September. While the title, "Mastering
the Art of Soviet Cooking; A Memoir of Food and Longing," suggests
something along the lines of a food-journal, this book by Anya von Bremzen
is a well written family history/memoir/social and political history of the
Soviet Union.
