Dear colleagues,
My question is for those of you who are working in amalgamated departments with other languages and cultures. I would be very interested to know if your department has established an amalgamated degree at the undergraduate level, such as a bachelor in "modern languages," for example, as opposed to offering majors in specific languages (Russian, German etc). What kind of experience did your department have with this degree? What do you think are the advantages and the shortcomings for students, the department and the individual programs?
Please reply off-list to Volha: visakava at uottawa.ca
Thank you in advance!
