Dear Natalia Pylypiuk,

Melissa Stockdale has a fine article on the usage of "otechestvo" and
"rodina" which was published in the volume Space, Place and Power in
Modern Russia. Essays in the New Spatial History, Marc Bassin,
Christopher Ely, Melissa K. Stockdale, eds. (DeKalb: Northern Illinois
University Press, 2010).

Dear Colleagues,

Would you please direct me to readings, both historical and theoretical,
which discuss the understanding of "otechestvo"

in the Russian Empire in the second half of the 18th century?

Thank you,

Natalia Pylypiuk
