The first ever international comparative study of the mythologies which popular TV series in Czechoslovakia/Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland and Romania – made before and after the fall of communism – disseminate in their societies. The publication is intended as a contribution to inter-cultural understanding between the countries of the European Union. A cooperative project of colleagues from Glasgow University's College of Arts and College of Social Sciences and of academics from universities in the Czech Republic, Poland and Romania.

A publication output, related to British Academy research project no. SG102202 and the EU "Education for Competitiveness" research project no. CZ.1.07/2.3.00/20.0125.
