Крәшен (the first vowel is a front vowel like a in cat) is the Tatar word, which comes etymologically, of course, from Russian крещеные. The y in the English form Kryashen comes from the Russified version of the Tatar word--Russian conveys this front vowel through palatalization (кряшен).
