Biographical Information on Vitali Gubarev

I am doing research at Duke University on Vitali Gubarev's children's story, Korolevstvo Krivikh Zerkal (The Kingdom of Crooked Mirrors). I have been unable to find any reliable biographical information about Vitali Gubarev (1912-81). If anyone knows anything about this author's life or work please let contact me.
