Recommendations for a good article on the Russian Olympics?

I'm offering my Soviet civilization students an extra credit opportunity: to watch an hour of the Olympic opening ceremonies on Friday (the Russian Club is hosting a "watch" party). I'd also like them to read an article (or two if they're short) to which they can respond. It could be an opinion piece, an overview, a news report, a magazine article, etc. I want something accessible and not overly inflammatory. Suggestions?
