Note: Dorsey's Quapaw lexical file did have "tappa" (my orthography) but, oddly, labels it an "Osage loan". It fits Quapaw perfectly -- how could he know? And it turned out I do have Jimm's dictionary here at home. I couldn't find cognates or analogs. Bob
