Dear all,
I have just received confirmation from the Wichita and Affiliated
Tribes that they want to host our meeting this summer. However, they want
to change the date to one week earlier, so we will be meeting in Anadarko,
Oklahoma on June 2-3, 2000.
I know that is the weekend of the giant Red Earth powwow in
Oklahoma City, which may cause problems for some of you, and may serve as
an added attraction for others. I apologize if that makes for problems,
but there was nothing we could do about it.
I will be putting the program together, so please send me titles
and approximate length of time for a presentation (20-30 minutes
recommended) by May 12. I'll get you a preliminary schedule some time the
following week. Remember that this is NOT a selective conference: we
welcome presentations from everyone, as long as they are related to some
aspect of the languages belonging to the Siouan and Caddoan families.
Since I'm relying on email instead of more traditional means of publicity
for this meeting, please tell your friends (especially folks who don't
have email) and invite them to come along.
We're working on motel reservations and will send along more
information as it becomes available. Meanwhile, if you're not getting
this message directly from me and would like to be on my mailing list,
send me a note to that effect.
I am really looking forward to seeing everyone, and I know you'll
enjoy the Wichita hospitality. The language class has already promised to
put on one dinner for us.
	David
