I have a note from Bill bright who is editing a book on placenames. Can
anyone help with this? I suspected it might be Chiwere.

hi bob; thanks for your message. there's a place in missouri called
"neongwah", "niangua" or the like. ramsay's book on missouri placenames
doesn't give any suggestion of a meaning. do you have any clue? thanks
and
all best; bill
