Can anybody tell me whether or not an expression for 'oak (-tree)' exists in Dakota/Lakota? Up to now I couldn't find any. Had it been left behind in the forests of their earlier history and been forgotten?? In Algonquian this word seems to still exist (although I can't remember it). Alfred
