I need to set the date for our conference in late May or early June as soon as
possible now so that we can move plans ahead. We had talked about having the
meeting around the time of the Osage dances which occupy three weekends during
this period. This would enable conference participants to attend one or more of
said dances if they wished. Jimm Good Tracks made the excellent point that, if
we schedule our meeting the same weekend as any one of the Osage dances,
interested Osages would not be able to attend because of the conflict. This
might well extend to Kaws, Quapaws and Poncas also.

I will enquire about these dates and try to verify them during the next few
days. If anyone knows for certain that this is the schedule, please let me
know. If this is indeed the schedule, then we should think about the Friday,
Saturday and Sunday preceding the weekend of June 3-5, i.e., the last weekend in
May, OR we should wait until the weekend of June 17, the week between the last
two Osage dances. Anyone have a preference?

Best wishes to everyone for the New Year!
