Having drawn attention to Bob and Louanna's idea of the elicition guide,
I'll be happy to participate in this project however it is formulated, on
any basis possible, and to help organized things if the site is Boulder or
some place where I can be useful. Like Kathy Shea, if things are done on
a topical basis, I would be willing to tackle anything assigned by the
program committee. I think Bob and John B would make a good pair for
that, if they're willing. Presumably we'll have a chance, perhaps on this
list, to comment on any proposed organization of matter, while leaving
final decisions in their hands.

If matters are arranged topically, which sounds like a good idea to me,
then the conference itself, if not sooner, will provide a way to get the
input of the language specialists in areas where we need help.

I am usually not available over the usual major family holidays, or in and
around July, but, like Bob, my schedule is probably less constrained than
an academic schedule, if I know long enough in advance.

This Fall would be the soonest I could participate, and somewhat later
would be better. While it's attractive to combine the meeting with the
Siouan & Caddoan Meeting, it does stray from the usual thrust of that
meeting and, especially if longer than usual, it might impose an unfair
burden on Randy in regard to the Billings meeting. If it were going to be
combined with some other meeting perhaps it should be one of the larger
meetings, though I have no particular suggestions in that line, and
haven't attended any of them recently.
