Being from North Dakota I can best answer this question.

Woslata means to stand up. I think this word is for inanimate objects. As
opposed to Nazin for animate objects.

There are many sources for the term Inyan Woslata in Dakota / Lakota
texts.  I believe Willamson lists this name in his dictionary.

There is also the name of the long bone breastplates used by women called
Huhu Bosdata (Dakota).  We also have a famous rock by Ft. Ransom called
Inyan Bosdata here in ND. A state historic site.
