Randy:
Thanks for the news article, which I have E'd to some Baxoje,
Jiwere~Ñut^achi. Indeed, Thank You very much and with heartfelt
appreciation. It seems seems these simple words are such a small return to
you for everything in regard to the facilitation of the conference that
included economy dorm apts, meals, city directions, evening cafes, copys of
papers and guest speakers. No doubt, everyone should be home recuperating
by now, and reviewing their return to daily routine. I'll look for
opportunity to allow to the reading and review of so many interesting
papers.
I cannot recall a conference of such shared fellowship, support and with so
many interesting discussions on language and comparative issues. I look
forward to the draft of John's paper on Pronouns, which was tempting to stay
for, but I know now my decision to opt out towards the 20hr drive home was
the better decision. Granddaughter drove 3.5hrs and with a box of Nodoz and
an answered prayer, we got back home in one piece. Hintagwaiñe was marked
with sinje shuje from being strapped in his car seat so long. The drive
home was the low point of the trip, as the literal high of our ten days was
the awesome and scary Beartooth trail above timberline and the clouds -
NEVER that route again!

I'll get Bob's verb reference examples to him and John's complex sentence
examples as I'm able to look them up. I forgot to get the IOM CD's to
Johannes. I've learned I must act when I think of something, or I fail to
do it. If he will send me an address to his location in Wisconsin or
wherever, I package them for shipment.
For those who were unable to make the conference, it will be a loss which
may be be lightened by accessing the presented papers when possible and
available, or talking with one of us participants.
.
Upon my return, there was mail from D.C., notifying that the grant applied
for will be funded. Apparently, I would have known the decision before
leaving except that Fast Lane did not notify the agency of my E-address
change as they said, and the actual grant notice letter to my name was sent
to the tribe's address. I do not live there in the tribal offices. So this
is tremendously great news. The project will begin officially in October,
when they work out bookkeeping with the tribe.
There is more, for my cup runneth over, but enough for the moment.
I thank each of you fellow participants for the special persons you are, the
kindness to my grandchildren and the blessing you extend to the Native
communities (weather they can appreciate it now or latter, as everyone's
enlightenment continues).
