I asked a fluent speaker today about "elephant" and he pronounced it
clearly with ejective c: phutewokic'u. He said it means "he gives food
to his own lip", consisting of phute 'lip' and wokic'u 'to give foot to
one's own'. The word wokic'u is attested by other speakers and
materials.
