SACC lodging update 5/23/2009 0800 CST

Hi Mark,
 
The rate when I called the Travelodge a couple weeks back and reserved was indeed $52.  I mentioned the Siouan Caddoan Linguistics Conference specifically.

Thanks to Dave K, Bob R, and Kathy S for alerting me to the lodging concerns.
 
I understand that the Travelodge front desk is claiming A) there is no conference rate, B) the date for receiving the conference rate is past, or C) they are booked.
 
I rousted the Manager, "Mr. G", out of bed early this morning and relayed these concerns. 
 
When he gets to the motel later today he will check into all of these issues.
 
I reminded him that A) the conference rate is $52, B) the suggested deadline for reserving at that rate is 5/26, and C) if they are truly booked in the 30 reserved rooms that is good news for our turnout and their business.
 
If the Travelodge is booked, I will secure a second lodging and let everyone know immediately.
 
If you have not reserved a room, you might want to get on with it!
 
Reference the Manager, "Mr. G", when booking.
