Randy:
I truly looked forward to hearing your presentation. However, I know how the unexpected can change things, such as my unanticipated surgical procedure yesterday has changed my activities for some time to come. You will be missed.
Nevertheless, I look for the next opportunity for a reunion.
The very best to you.
Jimm and Saul

Due to unforseen circumstances I won't be able to make it to the
conference, so I'll have to withdraw my paper. Hopefully next year!

A few days ago I sent some driving instructions from Kansas City or St.
Joseph,
MO to the conference site. "The route to the conference from there is
US
highway 56 west to Kansas state highway 7, then north to White Cloud.
Once you
are within the state of Kansas you can call 511 for road closing
information."

The mention of U.S. route 56 was WRONG. It should read US highway 36
(three
six), NOT 56. My bad; sorry about that.

And Jimm is right. There could be flooding on US 36 at Wathena, KS,
just across
the bridge from St. Joseph, MO. The KS National Guard has been
dispatched to
this area to help with flood protection. It would be a good idea to
check with
state authorities in MO, KS or NE before committing to a particular
crossing
point on the Missouri River.

The telephone number in Kansas is 511 from within the state. I'll try
to find
out for MO and NE.

See everybody soon!

Bob
