As far as I know this far in advance, both of the weekends Mark suggests would work for me.

I second Johannes' motion to include another workshop on Comparative Siouan Grammar in the 2009 meeting and/or at the 2008 one.

Speaking of which, picking a date and generally firming up plans for the 2008 meeting seems like a priority ... is that at a stage where it can be publicly announced?

Dear Mark,

both weekends are in the midst of our term in Germany, so it does not make a
difference. However June 11 is a holiday here which allows me to stay away from
my teaching obligations. So I would opt for the weekend Friday June 12 through
Sunday June 14. What is important for me is that I know the date and the
locations some time in advance in order to be able to apply for money and to
make arrangements for an overseas trip.

I would like to add a suggestion. I am not up to date with regard to the project
of a Comparative Siouan Grammar, but this project was inaugurated
enthusiastically in Billing,MT last year. We had pretty good papers there and
also made far reaching plans for two volumes. Since then, it became so quiet
that I am somewhat concerned this project may pass away without any attempt to
revitalize it. I would very much regret this. Therefore, I suggest that we add
another workshop on Comparative Siouan Grammar in order to give the whole
enterprise a new push. I would volunteer to help to prepare this workshop as far
as I can from the Old World.

Best,
Johannes

---------- Ursprüngliche Nachricht / Original message ----------
Datum: Sun, 28 Oct 2007 06:42:17 -0500
Antwort an: siouan@lists.colorado.edu
Von: Mark J Awakuni-Swetland <mawakuni-swetland2@unlnotes.unl.edu>
An: siouan@lists.colorado.edu
Betreff: SACC2009

Aloha all,

Thanks for the feedback about the proposed site of the 2009 SACC.
