Carolyn was one of the friendliest and most helpful people I ever met in my thus far rather short academic career. I remember really being surprised by how helpful she was, how interested she was in my ideas, how many ideas of her own she had. I had no idea she was doing poorly. I guess, as Bob said, she didn't want us worrying about her.<br>
