I will not be able to make it to the conference either.  My excuse: I am working for the Breath of Life Workshop in DC during that time.  I will be working with Barbareno Chumash people.  So reading up hard on everything Chumash.  Chumash is a delightful language,

 thoroughly written up by our dear John P. Harrington, who was almost celibate and had nine lives.  We should make Chumash a honorary Siouan or Caddoan language, so that would be a excuse to meet at Santa Barbara, and get to see Marianne and Wally more often!<br>
